The Frame Building

DESIGN & RENOVATION

Re-design for The Frame Building reference the historical context of the existing conditions and introduce a “modern” infrastructure concept. Renovations include all new building systems and tenant amenities, as well as the addition of new window bays on three exposures providing exceptional opportunities for light and air typically not found in mid-block buildings. The entire facade of the building will be replaced while maintaining the original aesthetic. Each street-facing window will extend beyond the exterior wall to further illustrate the blend of new-and-old giving the impression of a “gallery wall”. The “Frame” concept is also applied to each of the openings along the front facade through the use of corten steel, a reference to the previous ‘rusty’ windows.
